THE LAB.SESSIONS – MERCEDES QUIJADA – GOLDENLADY open studio

THE LAB.SESSIONS regressa com mais uma edição no Dia Mundial da Dança – 29 de abril, às 18h30 – com a presença da coreógrafa, bailarina e artista visual Mercedes Quijada.

Mercedes Quijada irá dar a conhecer o seu processo criativo e apresentar um excerto da sua mais recente obra, GOLDENLADY, que estreia em outubro. «Os seus movimentos, inspirados no flamenco e nas artes marciais, respondem a um canto ancestral, alternando entre exaustão e delicadeza, e revelando uma essência comum da feminilidade, entre tradição e modernidade.»

Mercedes Quijada (Granada, 1991) é coreógrafa, bailarina e artista visual. A sua carreira artística abrange a dança contemporânea, o flamenco e as artes visuais, com especial enfoque na fisicalidade e na figura da mulher tradicional no folclore andaluz.

THE LAB.SESSIONS returns with another edition on World’s Dance Day – 29 April at 6.30 pm – featuring the choreographer, dancer and visual artist Mercedes Quijada.

Mercedes Quijada will present a glimpse into the creative process and an excerpt of her latest work GOLDENLADY, premiering in October. ‘Her movements, inspired by flamenco and martial arts, respond to ancestral song, alternating between exhaustion and delicacy, and revealing a shared essence of womanhood, between tradition and modernity.’
