No teatro, está tudo à mostra, não existe nada entre o espectador e a performance, é ele o responsável por enquadrar e selecionar a informação que lhe interessa, tornando-se, assim, parte inequívoca da obra final. O cinema e os seus mecanismos criam camadas em justaposição e fazem essa pré-seleção pelo espectador. O que não entra no campo da câmara não existe no domínio da ficção criada. Mas o que entendemos como espectador quando falamos de teatro é o mesmo quando falamos de cinema? Regressamos a Casa dos Pais — algo que tantos foram forçados a fazer nestes últimos anos —, para interrogar e reaprender a descrever o ordinário, o banal, o até aqui evidente. — A Turma

Everything is on display when it comes to theatre. There is nothing in between the spectator and the performance; he is responsible for framing and selecting the information in which he has an interest, thus becoming an unequivocal part of the final work. Cinema and its mechanisms create juxtaposed layers and carry out that pre-selection on behalf of the spectator. What remains off camera does not exist in the realm of the established fiction. But is our understanding of a spectator the same when discussing theatre and when discussing cinema? We return to our parent’s house [Casa dos Pais], which so many were forced to do in the last few years, to question and relearn how to describe the ordinary, the trivial, what was obvious so far. — A Turma
