The documentary highlights pioneering women in both the Federal Republic of Germany and East Germany, who fought against a male-dominated world obsessed with success and power, in order to carve out a place in democracy. Their struggles and successes paved the way for political figures like Angela Merkel, the first female Chancellor of the Federal Republic of Germany.
