Monáe uses ideas that have roots in Afrofuturism, a movement created by Sun Ra, a science-fiction fantasy zone where issues of civil rights and Black experiences intersect with futuristic societies and cosmic energies. Bring an outfit of your creation of this cultural aesthetic that uses science fiction, technology, and ancestors.

Yayoi Kusama is known for her vibrant embrace of pop-art, the Japanese artist and writer has become a living legend in the intersecting worlds of fashion, art, and culture. Bring an outfit of circles and colors, two of the signatures of the artist, and show us your walk.

Vivienne Westwood was an iconic fashion designer, largely responsible for bringing modern punk and new wave fashions into the mainstream. Create a punk look with an inspiration on Vivienne vision and legacy and show us your process of creation.

Alma Thomas was an African American Artist and teacher recognised as a major painter known for her mosaic -like paintings in the 20th century. If you are in Ballroom you must know Tracey Africa, the first African American transgender woman model to appear on a box of Clairol in the 1970´s, also achieving prominence in the fashion industry. In one of her appearances in ballroom, the Bazaar Ball in 1993, she appeared with a plaid black and white outfit, organized in rectangles. Bring it to the judges in a inspired look like Tracey and give us face like our queen.

Nowadays we keep having more exposure of ballroom art through different platforms in the scene and outside. “Legendary” was one of the shows that made us see how many performers had their careers beyond ballroom with a rich artistic vocation in different areas. “A night at the museum”. Museums are monumental venues where we can appreciate art and history. If it wasn’t for many museums we would not have access to information and different artistic manifestations from past to present. Inspired by the movie “A night at the museum” where animals, sculptures and famous figures come to life when visitors leave the museum at night, create a bizarre creature inspired by museum art that becomes ALIVE.

Commentator vs Commentator | 
Each judge will give a word related to what inspires them the most. It can be an artist, any art form or even a feeling and you must chant with their word of choice and let it flow.

“Uma noite no museu”. Os museus são espaços monumentais onde podemos apreciar a arte e a história. Se não fosse por muitos museus não teríamos acesso a informações e diferentes manifestações artísticas do presente e passado. Inspirado no filme “Uma noite no museu” onde animais, esculturas e figuras famosas ganham vida quando os visitantes saem do museu à noite, cria uma criatura bizarra inspirada na arte do museu que ganha VIDA.
