No próximo sábado, 17 de maio de 2025, pelas 18h, inaugura na Kubikgallery, no Porto, a exposição Where the Earth Remembers, da artista luso-angolana Mónica de Miranda. Esta será a sua primeira exposição individual nesta galeria, inserindo-se num momento de destaque da sua carreira internacional.

A artista apresenta uma proposta expositiva que cruza fotografia, cinema, som e instalação, numa reflexão crítica sobre identidade, território e memória, ancorada em ecologias de cuidado e narrativas de resistência.
A exposição decorre em paralelo com mostras suas na Galeria Municipal do Porto e na Universidade Católica Portuguesa, fortalecendo o diálogo entre arte contemporânea e espaços institucionais.
🌍 Representante de Portugal na Bienal de Veneza 2024 com o projeto Greenhouse, Mónica de Miranda tem vindo a afirmar-se nos circuitos internacionais da arte, com presenças em bienais como Berlim, Dakar e Veneza, e em instituições como o MAAT, Barbican, MUAC e Gulbenkian. É também fundadora do Hangar – Centro de Investigação Artística em Lisboa.

On Saturday, May 17, 2025, at 6 PM, the Kubikgallery in Porto will host the opening of Where the Earth Remembers, the first solo exhibition at this venue by Portuguese-Angolan artist Mónica de Miranda.

The artist presents a multidisciplinary body of work across photography, cinema, sound, and installation, reflecting on identity, territory, and memory, rooted in ecologies of care and resistance narratives.
The exhibition runs alongside two other shows of her work at the Galeria Municipal do Porto and the Universidade Católica Portuguesa, reinforcing a strong institutional presence in the city.
🌍 Mónica represented Portugal at the 2024 Venice Biennale with Greenhouse, and has been featured at major international biennials like Berlin, Dakar, and Venice, as well as in institutions such as MAAT, Barbican, MUAC, and Gulbenkian. She is also the founder of Hangar – Center for Artistic Research in Lisbon.
