O Sr. O é um homem pequeno com muita energia, que, para superar a solidão, cria o próprio mundo com os seus arcos vermelhos. E há que admitir que um aro não é insignificante: permite-lhe mexer as nádegas e muitas coisas bonitas também, mas acima de tudo é um círculo, não se sabe se é virtuoso ou vicioso, nem onde começa nem onde acaba, nem mesmo em que direção se vira, e tudo isto torna-o ligeiramente louco.
Mr. O is a little man with a lot of energy, who, in order to overcome his loneliness, creates his own world with his red hoops. And one must admit that a hoop is not insignificant: it allows you to wriggle your buttocks of course and many beautiful things too, but above all it is a circle, one does not know if it is virtuous or vicious, neither where it begins nor where it ends, nor even in which direction it turns, and all this makes you slightly crazy.

Ancrage é uma procura de identidade, um regresso ao essencial, às nossas raízes, à terra. Ancorar-nos no que há de mais profundo em nós, a fim de melhor nos erguermos e superarmos a nós próprios.
A man wakes up and meets a strange creature from the belly of the earth. At first, they test each other, observe each other, confront each other, then tame each other, to finally find their anchoring point. A new world is then invented, where nature and humanity merge, rooting themselves in each other and plunging us into a profound peace. Eventualmente, este corpo deformado encontrará a alma perfeita, mas até lá, será puramente um recipiente para os errados. Embarcar nesta viagem individual que requer tanto uma mente lógica como um coração intuitivo, apenas com os dois, existe o antídoto contra o enfraquecimento do espírito. Música ao vivo, tecido acrobático, representação e um corpo em movimento; tudo representa uma condição subjacente expressa por um vazio em constante queda. O que se alcançará?

Nem sempre há um significado para tudo, por isso recordemos que: “É muito difícil pentear a girafa, especialmente sem uma escada”. Os dois, afetuosos mas também absurdos, atingem os objetivos essenciais mesmo na precariedade em que se encontram. L’imprévu sidéré é uma valsa em escadas de equilíbrio, um jogo sem fim, um desporto ridículo, uma escada encostada à parede errada.
4 ladders. Two men. Sweat. A lot of sweat. It all looks complicated but that’s their simplicity. We could stop them and ask: but why? There isn’t always a meaning to everything, so let’s just remember that “It’s very difficult to comb the giraffe, especially without a ladder.” The two of them, tender but also absurd, move forward together to try to succeed in their precarious, but essential goals. L’imprévu sidéré is a waltz in balance on ladders, a game without end, a ridiculous sport, a ladder leaning against the wrong wall.

Com base na própria amizade e parceria, os dois artistas criaram uma joia do circo contemporâneo que explode de encanto, energia e humor borbulhante. The best of friends and the biggest competitors. Fiercely they struggle to be best, fastest, strongest. They compete until the last drop of sweat and drive each other mad. In English, “gregarious” is a term for animals and people who feel most at ease in a group. Back2Classics, a fresh, close and intimate trampoline show for the whole family where the most classic circus merges with urban cultures through dance, music and the art of turntablism (scratching with vinyl records). A proposal where the trampoline takes on a life of its own among the madness and acrobatics of its protagonist. A trip to the past that we love the most, full of humour, poetry, innocence, rhythm, and somersaults that will change the concept we have of the trampoline.

Mau Jara é artista e professor especializado em pinos, originário da Costa Rica, onde trabalhou até 2017 como artista independente e com a companhia de circo Punto Muerto. Atualmente vive em Portugal onde é professor de pinos e acrobacia, continuando a participar em criações, como intérprete.
Mauricio Jara is an artist and teacher who specializes in handstands. He was born in Costa Rica, where he worked until 2017 as an independent artist and with the circus company Punto Muerto. He currently lives in Portugal, teaching handstands and acrobatics, and performing in several productions.
Nesta formação intensiva de pinos, vamos explorar o equilíbrio de mãos de diferentes pontos de vista. Abordaremos o básico desta habilidade, mas também mergulharemos no pino como ferramenta para o processo de criação. Vamos experimentar pinos no chão, em pessoas, em objetos. E faremos perguntas. Muitas perguntas. Como podemos conectar-nos com uma plateia quando estamos de olhos para o chão? (Precisamos mesmo de olhar para o chão?) Um convite a todos os artistas circenses interessados a aventurarem-se nesta experiência de cabeça para baixo.
In this handstand intensive we will explore handbalancing from different points of view. We will cover the basics of this skill, but also dive in to the handstand as a tool for the creation process. We will experiment with handstands on the floor, on people, on objects. And we will ask questions. A lot of questions. How can we connect to an audience when we are staring at the floor? Do we even have to stare at the floor? Therefore I invite all interested circus performers to dive in to this upside-down experience.

PENÁLTI é o resultado artístico da primeira fase do Q-Circo. Projeto de intervenção artística que promove o diálogo entre artistas de circo contemporâneo e grupo de jovens do Centro Educativo St. António e o Centro de Reabilitação da Areosa. Este desafio une as estruturas Erva Daninha, o Centro Social Soutelo e a Fundação Salesianos Porto num projeto PARTIS and Arts for Change financiado pela Fundação Calouste Gulbenkian e a Fundação La Caixa.

Raphaela Olivo nasce no Brasil e forma-se em circo na Escola Nacional de Circo do Rio de Janeiro, como base de portes acrobáticos. Em 2017, cocria a companhia DuoVerse juntamente com o volante Nicolás González com a qual realiza digressões pela Europa e Canadá. Em 2020 estreiam o espetáculo “Habitual” e em 2021 “Dentro de uma coisa só”. Nico Mancialez nasce no Chile. A ligação ao circo surge aos 15 anos e aos 18 já estuda na Escola de Circo de Londrina, no Brasil. Volta ao Chile e trabalha nos circos “The London Circus” e “Circo del Tony Caluga”. Forma-se em circo na Escola Nacional de Circo do Rio de Janeiro nas técnicas de mão a mão, acrobacias coletivas, malabares e trapézio de voos.
Raphaela Olivo was born in Brazil and trained in circus at the National Circus School of Rio de Janeiro, as a base. In 2017, after the end of his studies, he co-creates the company DuoVerse together with the flywheel Nicolás González with which he tours Europe and Canada. In 2020 they premiere the show “Habitual” and in 2021 “Dentro de uma coisa só”. Nico Mancialez was born in Chile. His connection to the circus began at the age of 15 and by the age of 18 he was already studying at the Londrina Circus School in Brazil. He returned to Chile and worked in “The London Circus” and “Circo del Tony Caluga”. He trains in circus at the National Circus School in Rio de Janeiro in the techniques of hand to hand, collective acrobatics, juggling and trapeze flying.
