Resonant Matter
This exhibition explores the resonance of materials—waste, paper, algae—that carry the weight of memory, ecological grief, and responsibility. Zbidi brings global systems of disposal into focus, transforming discarded matter into works that speak to resilience. Penelo crafts delicate structures from recycled paper, confronting the ethical questions of bringing new objects into the world. Kardell’s ephemeral algae textiles serve as meditations on mortality, desire, and ecological fragility. Together, the works form a conversation about cycles of use and renewal, about how matter can hold both loss and possibility, and about the role of artists in shaping new relationships with the material world.
