 Raoul Eden toca com sua guitarra instrumental com 6 e 12 cordas pontuado por slide dobro e drone modular. O seu estilo está enraizado num blues psicadélico primitivo aberto aos sons do Oriente Médio, lirismo clássico e ragga indiano.

 A sua melodia na guitarra mergulha tanto em estruturas repetitivas e extáticas quanto em formas livres quase improvisadas; e faz fronteira com uma viagem para além da realidade e através das ilusões.

”Raoul Eden tem influências singulares, que ele atribui à posição encruzilhada das suas raízes – entre o mundo oriental e ocidental, norte e sul. A música árabe sempre esteve presente no seu redor. Ele também modificou seu violão Guild D55 com um traste extra que lhe permite tocar embelezamentos microtonais como no Blues tuaregue ou Saz turco.

Muita música clássica ocidental era tocada na casa onde ele cresceu, e isso pode ser outra influência oculta em seu estilo, esse fluxo lírico.

Raoul Eden tem um firme enraizamento no mundo espiritual, desde o materialismo transcendental do filósofo francês Deleuze, que estuda detalhadamente, até a teosofia esotérica de Ibn Arabî, o famoso mestre sufi da Andaluzia, ou Mestre Eckart, o teólogo dominicano. Ele tenta colocar um pé na porta da iluminação ao expulsar uma temporalidade vertical da história. Com sua guitarra, ele tenta dobrar tempo e espaço em intensidade.”

 Raoul Eden offers an instrumental guitar set with 6 and 12 strings punctuated by slide dobro and modular drone. His style is rooted in a primitive psychedelic blues open to the sounds of the Middle East, classical lyricism and Indian ragga.

 His guitar playing digs as much into repetitive and ecstatic structures as into quasi-improvised free forms; and borders on a journey beyond reality and through illusions.

”Raoul Eden has singular influences, which he puts down to the crossroad position of his roots – between the eastern and western world, north and south. Arabic music has always been present around him. He has also modified his Guild D55 acoustic guitar with an extra fret that allows him to play microtonal embellishments like in Tuareg blues or Turkish saz.

A lot of western classical music was played in the house where he grew up, and that could be another hidden influence in his style, that lyrical flow.

Raoul Eden has a firm rooting in the spiritual world, from the transcendental materialism of the french philosopher Deleuze, which studies in detail, to the esoteric theosophy of Ibn Arabî the famous Sufi Master from Andalusia, or Master Eckart, the Dominican theologian. He tries to put a foot in the door of enlightenment by driving a vertical temporality out of history. With his guitar, he tries to fold time and space in intensivity.”
