PT | O programa “Enfim, o amor!”, com curadoria da brasileira Janaína Oliveira, investigadora e curadora de cinem, traz para esta edição do Porto Femme, três filmes realizados por diretoras negras brasileiras onde o amor na perspectiva das mulheres é também protagonista, seja ele o amor romântico, o amor-próprio, o amor por sonhos compartilhados, o amor pela luta. Pois, como diz Bell Hooks, “no fim do dia é amor que nos sustenta e dá significado a vida”.

EN | The “Love at Last!” programme, curated by Brazilian film researcher and curator Janaína Oliveira, brings to this edition of Porto Femme three films by black Brazilian directors in which love from the perspective of women is also the protagonist, be it romantic love, self-love, love of shared dreams or love of struggle. Because, as Bell Hooks says, “at the end of the day it is love that sustains us and gives meaning to life”.

Janaína Oliveira é pesquisadora e curadora de cinema. Professora do Instituto Federal do Rio de Janeiro (IFRJ) e consultora da JustFilms – Fundação Ford. É doutora em História e foi Fulbright Visiting Scholar no Centro na Universidade Howard nos EUA. Desde 2009, desenvolve pesquisas e realiza curadorias em cinema trabalhando também como consultora, júri e conferencista em vários festivais de cinema e instituições no Brasil e no exterior. Atualmente, além de participar de outras iniciativas curatoriais, integra o Comitê de Seleção do BlackStar Film Festival, o conselho consultivo do Doc’s Kingdom, conselho curatorial do Criterion Channel e realiza pós-doutorado Departamento de Cinema da NYU.
Janaína Oliveira is a film researcher and curator. She is a professor at the Federal Institute of Rio de Janeiro (IFRJ) and a consultant for JustFilms – Ford Foundation. She has a PhD in History and was a Fulbright Visiting Scholar at the Howard University Centre in the USA. Since 2009, she has been developing research and curating films, as well as working as a consultant, jury member and lecturer at various film festivals and institutions in Brazil and abroad. Currently, in addition to participating in other curatorial initiatives, she is a member of the Selection Committee of the BlackStar Film Festival, the advisory board of Doc’s Kingdom, the curatorial board of the Criterion Channel and a postdoctoral fellow at the NYU Film Department.
