Maus Hábitos apresenta a exposição Lucid Dreams of a Static Beast, de Svenja Tiger, uma jornada visceral que emerge de um estado liminar e instável de luto, onde a oposições entre vida e morte são revisitadas sem resolução. As imagens exploram um espaço mental assombrado dentro de um corpo com o coração partido, que passa por um exorcismo simbólico, tentando alcançar um encontro alucinatório com o falecido. O objetivo é transformar o luto, movendo o espírito de “estático a fluído”, numa constante oscilação entre separação e assimilação, luz e sombra, cura e trauma, superação e integração.

Svenja Tiger é uma artista visual e figurinista nascida em Berlim e residente no Porto. A sua prática artística explora mundos liminares, entrelaçando fantasia pessoal, ficção coletiva e contos folclóricos, com o objetivo de conectar e romper distinções invisíveis entre a vida e a morte, o animal e o humano, o terrestre e o cósmico, o visível e o inefável. Através dessa exploração, ela revela experiências poéticas e imaginárias.

Maus Hábitos presents the exhibition Lucid Dreams of a Static Beast, by Svenja Tiger, a visceral journey that emerges from a liminal and unstable state of mourning, where the oppositions between life and death are continuously revisited without resolution. The images explore a haunted mental space within a broken-hearted body, going through a symbolic exorcism, trying to achieve a hallucinatory meeting with the deceased. The aim is to transform mourning, moving the spirit from “static to fluid”, a constant oscillation between separation and assimilation, light and shadow, healing and trauma, overcoming and integration.

About the Artist:
Svenja Tiger is a visual artist and costume designer, born in Berlin and living in Porto. Her artistic practice explores liminal worlds, intertwining personal fantasy, collective fiction, and folklore with the aim of connecting and breaking invisible distinctions between life and death, animal and human, earthly and cosmic, visible and ineffable. Through this exploration, she reveals poetic and imaginary experiences.
