Uma vez mais, seguindo o curso de edições anteriores, o Porto Femme decide homenagear as mulheres-cineastas que se destacam ou destacaram no panorama cinematográfico. Nesta 6º edição homenageamos a cineasta Solveig Nordlund, realizadora premiada internacionalmente que marca a história do cinema português com a sua contribuição única e singular. Nesta sessão podemos assistir ao filme “Aparelho Voador a Baixa Altitude” (2002), seguido de uma conversa com a realizadora moderada por Ana Sofia Pereira.

Solveig Nordlund é uma cineasta premiada internacionalmente e naturalizada portuguesa, nascida em Estocolmo, na Suécia. Ela estudou Línguas e Arte na Universidade de Estocolmo e Cinema na Sorbonne, em Paris. Começou sua carreira como assistente de direção e editora, tendo trabalhado em vários filmes de diretores como Manoel de Oliveira e João César Monteiro. Nordlund começou a trabalhar como diretora a partir de 1974 nas cooperativas Cinequipa, Cinequanon e Grupo Zero, dos quais foi fundadora. Seus filmes foram apresentados em festivais como Locarno, Roma, Mar del Plata, Rotterdam, Montreal, São Paulo, Vila do Conde, Nova York e Estocolmo, entre muitos outros. Além do cinema, Nordlund também trabalhou em televisão, rádio e teatro.

Num futuro próximo, o mundo é reduzido a poucas pessoas e não há mais crianças. A espécie humana está à beira da extinção porque as mulheres não engravidam mais e, quando o fazem, só geram seres mutantes que são imediatamente eliminados pelas autoridades. Judite Foster (Margarida Marinho), uma mulher fértil que já engravidou seis vezes, tem esperança novamente. Ela começa a hipotetizar que a causa das mutações genéticas são os testes complicados feitos no feto para avaliar se é mutante ou não. Então, ela decide fugir com seu marido, André (Miguel Guilherme), para uma pequena cidade que não está sob a vigilância das autoridades. Lá, Judite fica aos cuidados de um estranho médico, que pode ser a salvação não apenas de seu filho, mas de toda a humanidade. Nesta sessão podemos assistir ao filme “Aparelho Voador a Baixa Altitude” (2002), seguido de uma conversa com a realizadora moderada por Ana Sofia Pereira.

Solveig Nordlund is an internationally awarded filmmaker and a naturalized Portuguese born in Stockholm, Sweden. She studied Languages and Art at the University of Stockholm and Cinema at the Sorbonne in Paris. She began her career as an assistant director and editor, having worked on several films by directors such as Manoel de Oliveira and João César Monteiro. Nordlund started working as a director from 1974 in the cooperatives Cinequipa, Cinequanon and Grupo Zero, of which she was a founder. Her films were presented at Locarno, Rome, Mar del Plata, Rotterdam, Montreal, São Paulo, Vila do Conde, New York, and Stockholm, among many others. In addition to cinema, Nordlund has also worked in television, radio, and theater.

In a near-future world where the human species is on the verge of extinction due to a lack of pregnancies and the few that occur result in mutant offspring, Judite Foster (Margarida Marinho) is a fertile woman who has become pregnant six times. She suspects that the complicated tests done on the fetus are causing genetic mutations and decides to flee with her husband, André (Miguel Guilherme), to a small town under the care of a mysterious doctor who could be the hope of their child and the rest of humanity.
