Day Trip in Douro Valley: Lamego on 14th April

✨The aim is to introduce you to an authentic Portugal not yet well-known by “mass tourism” the rural one, of the villages, mountains and prairies that cannot be reached by means of transport. This time we will bring you to Lamego. (Unfairly) Skipped from the touristic route, the city has monuments that are national references and proud of Portuguese heritage. From this alone you can imagine the rich historical, cultural, architectural and religious legacy that Lamego hides. From its Roman origins and Arab domination, to the prosperity of the 17th and 18th centuries, including the Christian Reconquest, Lamego was central to the construction of a nation and the devotion of a people.

📅 DATE: Sunday 14th april

🧭ITINERARY: Leaving Porto by bus from Campanha train station at 8AM, we will come back to Porto around 7:30 PM or 8 PM. During the day we will visit the main attractions, and before lunch there’s a wine & regional products tasting on us. 📍IMPORTANT RECOMMENDATIONS: we will walk all the day, and considering that we will go down the stairs of the Sanctuary of Nossa Senhora dos Remédios as well, It is necessary to have good physical preparation for this excursion. I recommend always bringing water and snacks with you to consume during the visit or in the organic park in the afternoon.
