Conversa com Henrik Brahe e Marcus Müller
No âmbito da exposição “Arch Hands” de Henrik Brahe, irá decorrer no próximo sábado, 15 de abril, pelas 16h uma conversa entre Henrik Brahe e Marcus Müller.
Conversa com Henrik Brahe e Marcus Müller Marcus Müller é o diretor de campo de uma grande escavação alemã no Egito, com o nome de Athribis onde Henrik já trabalhou e fotografou. Nesta conversa, os dois arqueólogos comentarão a relação entre as suas fotografias e o trabalho arqueológico.
O projeto de fotografia “Arch hands” foi iniciado em 2015, como uma homenagem aos trabalhadores locais de três diferentes escavações arqueológicas no Egito e no Iraque, sem os quais não haveria trabalho de escavação. O projeto enfatiza a importância da força de trabalho local e a interação com arqueólogos profissionais. Parte da exposição “Arch Hands” já passou pela Dinamarca e Alemanha e agora, pela primeira vez, em Portugal.
HENRIK BRAHE
Fotógrafo/Arqueólogo Henrik Brahe nasceu na Dinamarca em 1965. Henrik é fotógrafo independente desde 1983, ano da sua primeira exposição individual. Estudou Arqueologia do Médio Oriente na Universidade de Copenhaga, na faculdade TORS entre 2003-2007 e desde então trabalha para universidades nacionais e internacionais, participando em escavações no Médio Oriente e Norte da África. Ele participou em mais de 100 exposições internacionais, festivais de cinema e vídeo nos últimos 40 anos. O seu trabalho é representado, entre outros, pela Biblioteca Real Dinamarquesa, Coleção de Fotografias e Mapas, DK, Bibliothèque Nationale, Paris, França e Biblioteca de Alexandria, Egito. Henrik participou no documentário “The Flooded Tombs of The Nile” da National Geographic em 2021, onde o foco foram as tumbas reais em Nuri e as escavações em Jebel Barkal no norte do Sudão. As part of the exhibition “Arch Hands” by Henrik Brahe, a conversation between Henrik Brahe and Marcus Müller will take place next Saturday, April 15th, at 4 pm.
Conversation with Henrik Brahe and Marcus Müller Marcus Müller is the field director of a large German excavation in Egypt called Athribis where Henrik has worked and photographed. In this conversation, the two archaeologists will comment on the relationship between their photographs and archaeological work.
The “Arch hands” photography project was started in 2015, as a tribute to the local workers of three different archaeological excavations in Egypt and Iraq, without whom there would be no excavation work. The project emphasizes the importance of the local workforce and interaction with professional archaeologists. Part of the “Arch Hands” exhibition has already passed through Denmark and Germany and now, for the first time, in Portugal.
HENRIK BRAHE
Photographer/Archaeologist Henrik Brahe was born in Denmark in 1965. Henrik has been an independent photographer since 1983, the year of his first solo exhibition. He studied Middle East Archeology at the University of Copenhagen, at the TORS faculty between 2003-2007 and since then he has worked for national and international universities, participating in excavations in the Middle East and North Africa. He has participated in over 100 international exhibitions, film and video festivals over the past 40 years. His work is represented, among others, by the Royal Danish Library, Collection of Photographs and Maps, DK, Bibliothèque Nationale, Paris, France and Library of Alexandria, Egypt. Henrik participated in the National Geographic documentary “The Flooded Tombs of The Nile” in 2021, where the focus was on the royal tombs at Nuri and the excavations at Jebel Barkal in northern Sudan.
