Casas sim, assim não! | Cortejo Musical, Cinema e Debate
O projeto Casas sim, assim não! inicia-se com um cortejo musical no Largo Alberto Pimentel, próximo do icônico café Mirita, onde o Coral de Letras da Universidade do Porto apresenta o repertório das Heróicas de Fernando Lopes-Graça. O cortejo segue pelas ruas e praças da cidade, com destino à livraria Gato Vadio.
Pelas 18h30, serão exibidos os filmes “Revolução” (Ana Hatherly, 1975) e “Casas para o povo” (Catarina Alves Costa, 2010), seguidos de uma conversa que conta com as participações de:
- Cândido Venceslau (D.R.A.M.A)
- Lia Gil Antunes (CIEG/Arquitectas da Liberdade)
- Paulo Gonçalves (Habitação Hoje)
A moderação ficará a cargo de Vanessa Rodrigues (IS-UP/ Habit:AÇÃO). Durante o debate, as impressões serão registadas numa pintura ao vivo pelo artista plástico João Alves.
Casas sim, assim não! é uma reflexão sobre as lutas pelo direito à habitação, tanto durante o período revolucionário de 1974/75, como no contexto atual de crise habitacional. O projeto dá continuidade ao projeto (A)Briga, iniciado em 2019, aproveitando arquivos visuais e as redes culturais e associativas da cidade.
O evento ocorrerá em quatro livrarias independentes, no coração da zona turística do Porto, afetada por gentrificação e especulação imobiliária. Este projeto é financiado pela DGArtes – Programa Arte pela Democracia.

The Casas sim, assim não! project starts with a musical parade at Largo Alberto Pimentel, near the iconic café Mirita, featuring the Coral de Letras from the University of Porto performing the Heróicas repertoire by Fernando Lopes-Graça. The parade will then wind through the surrounding streets and squares, heading toward the Gato Vadio bookstore.
At 6:30 PM, the films “Revolução” (Ana Hatherly, 1975) and “Casas para o povo” (Catarina Alves Costa, 2010) will be screened, followed by a conversation with:

- Lia Gil Antunes (CIEG/Arquitectas da Liberdade)
- Paulo Gonçalves (Habitação Hoje)
The discussion will be moderated by Vanessa Rodrigues (IS-UP/ Habit:AÇÃO), and the insights from the debate will be captured live in a painting by artist João Alves.
Casas sim, assim não! reflects on the struggles for the right to housing, both during the revolutionary period of 1974/75 and the current housing crisis. The project continues the A Briga initiative, launched in 2019, making use of visual archives and cultural networks within the city.
This event takes place in four independent bookstores at the heart of Porto’s tourist district, which is deeply affected by gentrification and real estate speculation. The project is funded by DGArtes – Arte pela Democracia Program.
