🔹 Sobre a Exposição:
Blur é um ensaio visual que capta a complexidade da vida quotidiana nos países em torno do Mar Adriático – uma região marcada por mudanças profundas e conflitos, desde as guerras mundiais do século XX até à última guerra na Europa antes do novo milénio.

A exposição reflete sobre a fluidez das fronteiras, politicamente definidas, mas nem sempre reais. Para quem não pertence a esta geografia, a identidade desta região pode parecer difusa, mas para os seus habitantes, os traços comuns atravessam gerações, apesar das divisões formais.

Lara Jacinto aborda essa identidade partilhada, as semelhanças entre povos e a dificuldade de estabelecer um sentimento de pertença singular, num espaço onde a integração e a fragmentação se cruzam continuamente.

📖 Origem do Nome:
O título Blur é inspirado no conceito de Hal Foster no livro Design and Crime, onde o autor descreve a diluição de fronteiras – entre disciplinas e correntes – como um dos traços fundamentais do século XXI.

🔹 About the Exhibition:
Blur is a visual essay capturing the complexity of daily life in the Adriatic region – an area shaped by profound transformations and conflicts, from the world wars of the 20th century to the last war in Europe before the new millennium.

The exhibition explores the fluidity of borders, which are politically defined but not always real. Outsiders may see them as fixed, but for the people of this region, shared histories, migrations, and cultural exchanges blur these divisions, making identity a layered and evolving concept.

Lara Jacinto delves into this unconsciously shared identity, the cultural overlaps, and the difficulty of establishing a singular sense of belonging in a place where integration and fragmentation coexist.

📖 Title Inspiration:
The name Blur is drawn from Hal Foster’s book Design and Crime, where he describes the dissolution of boundaries – between disciplines and movements – as a defining feature of the 21st century.
