No próximo 18 de junho, às 21:15, o Batalha Centro de Cinema apresenta As If Reality?, uma obra de Selwa Abd (Bergsonist) desenvolvida durante sua residência artística no ISSUE Project Room em 2022. Inspirada no livro Reality+: Virtual Worlds and the Problems of Philosophy de David Chalmers, esta peça explora a ideia de mundos virtuais como paisagens que surgem à medida que o mundo físico se deteriora.
Com uma abordagem criativa fundamentada na intuição e em sistemas fragmentados, Selwa Abd cria mundos sonoros e visuais que funcionam como simulações, convidando o público a especular sobre o futuro e refletir sobre a humanidade num contexto de declínio planetário. As If Reality? desafia o público com realidades contraditórias, incitando uma reflexão profunda sobre o destino do planeta.

On June 18th, at 9:15 PM, Batalha Centro de Cinema will present As If Reality?, a work by Selwa Abd (Bergsonist), developed during her artistic residency at the ISSUE Project Room in 2022. Inspired by the book Reality+: Virtual Worlds and the Problems of Philosophy by David Chalmers, this piece explores the idea of virtual worlds as landscapes emerging as the physical world deteriorates.
With a creative approach grounded in intuition and fragmented systems, Selwa Abd creates sound and visual worlds functioning as simulations, inviting the audience to speculate about the future and reflect on humanity in a context of planetary decline. As If Reality? challenges the audience with contradictory realities, sparking deep reflection on the fate of the planet.
