No Dia 20 de Fevereiro de 2025, às 15h30, a Casa do Infante recebe a conferência “A Tragédia da Família Freitas «Fortuna»”, conduzida pela historiadora Beatriz Hierro Lopes. Durante esta sessão, será abordada a história trágica da família portuense Freitas Fortuna, com base no brasão de armas atribuído por D. Luís a João António Freitas Fortuna em 1883. A conferência explora um dos mais trágicos episódios da história da cidade, em que figuras como o médico Vicente Urbino Freitas, protagonista do famoso Crime da Rua das Flores, e o escritor Camilo Castelo Branco se entrelaçam em destinos fatídicos.

On February 20, 2025, at 3:30 PM, Casa do Infante will host the conference “The Tragedy of the Freitas «Fortuna» Family,” presented by historian Beatriz Hierro Lopes. During this session, the tragic history of the Freitas Fortuna family will be explored, based on the coat of arms granted by King Luís to João António Freitas Fortuna in 1883. The conference delves into one of Porto’s most tragic stories, intertwining figures such as doctor Vicente Urbino Freitas, the main figure in the famous Crime of Rua das Flores, and writer Camilo Castelo Branco, whose fates are sealed in this ominous tale.
