Após realizar um videoclipe para o trio de hip-hop irlandês Kneecap, o realizador Rich Peppiatt decidiu dedicar a sua primeira longa-metragem aos artistas do trio. O filme, uma colaboração entre o grupo e o realizador, é uma comédia que parodia o gênero do filme biográfico.

After directing a music video for the Irish hip-hop trio Kneecap, director Rich Peppiatt decided to focus his first feature film on the artists of the trio. The film, a collaboration between the group and the director, is a comedy that parodies the biographical film genre.

Although the film is filled with laughter, it also carries an attitude of protest and resistance, reflecting the group’s mission to keep the Irish identity alive through their music, mostly sung in Irish. Their lyrics challenge authority and evoke a sense of British anti-imperialism.
