Após o sucesso retumbante da estreia do “Apóstolo” no Festival de Moscovo e a aclamação no Festival de Annecy, este documentário revela o estranho percurso do realizador Fernando Corczo e as suas investigações na tradição galega do culto aos mortos. Originalmente, “O Apóstolo” foi o primeiro filme europeu a ser feito em “stop-motion” estereoscópico e contou com uma equipa de luxo, incluindo Geraldine Chaplin, Paul Naschy, e a música de Philip Glass. O filme levou o Prémio do Público em Annecy, foi premiado na Fantasporto 2013 com o Prémio Especial do Júri, e chegou a ser pré-selecionado para os Óscares. Originally, “The Apostle” was the first European film made in stereoscopic stop-motion, featuring a luxurious cast, including Geraldine Chaplin, Paul Naschy, and the music of Philip Glass. The film won the Audience Award at Annecy, received the Special Jury Award at Fantasporto 2013, and was even shortlisted for the Oscars. However, a series of misfortunes, such as a fire that destroyed the distributor’s copies and a sudden refusal of release in the US, transformed the film’s journey into the unexpected.
